What is the challenge?

Do you have an innovative idea to stop climate change? Show us that your idea has the potential to substantially reduce greenhouse gas emissions – or to facilitate climate change adaptation. You can submit up to two ideas

In just two workshops you developed an idea and explored business concepts. Now, it’s time to upload your idea, collaborate with others and get feedback to further develop your idea. Then, you get to vote and shortlist the five most innovative ideas. The Jury will put extra attention to the community’s vote when nominating the five finalists who will be invited to come to the Finalist Camp in Berlin.

How to participate?

Anyone who took part in one of the workshops across the 28 universities can submit their idea and join the competition! All you have to do is upload your idea to our online platform and start collaborating with the community.The workshops are open for everyone. If you are a student from a not participating university, you can still sign up for one of our workshops. There are two requirements you have to fulfill to be legible to be amongst the five nominated teams of the Finalist Camp in Berlin: you have to have European citizienship and to be an enrolled student. How can I be nominated for the Finalist Camp?

To participate in the Finalist Camp and Award Ceremony, you need to submit your idea to our online platform before 30th of November 2015 (23:59). Be shortlisted by the community. Be selected and invited by our expert jury.

Everyone is invited and welcomed to join the Final Pitch Event on the 11th of December!

Required Content:

  • Project Idea – What is your project?
  • Climate Impact– What does your project do to combat climate change?
  • Business Model & Feasibility – What is the business model of your idea? How feasible is it?
  • Innovation Potential – How innovative is your idea?
  • Team Strength – Who is part of your team? Who will be executing this project with you?
  • Platform Engagement & active participation in the workshop.

Along with the previous info, your application will need to include your name, university, email address,  and place of residence.

If your idea is selected among the top five, you and your team will be invited to the Finalist Camp in Berlin on the 10th and 11th of December 2015.

What happens to my idea when I apply, will it still be mine?

Your idea remains absolutely yours! You retain full and exclusive ownership of your information and intellectual property rights. Any idea you submit will only be used for the purpose of evaluating your application to the Impact Academy Climate. If your idea involves intellectual property that may be patented please stay general in your description and do not share the details online with the community.

Who will make it into the top 5 of the Finalist Camp?

The top 5 most innovative and relevant idea, based mainly on the following three criteria: Innovativeness of the idea, relevance to climate change, and entrepreneurial spirit. Each participant can vote for their three favorite ideas in the community. Thereby, the community shortlists five ideas which an expert jury have to take into consideration when nominating the top 5 for the Finalist Camp.
